ELECTRICAL PROJECT MANAGER

Overview:

Manage all aspects of one or multiple projects depending on contract.  Oversee staff for compliance with all Project Management requirements as listed below.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Adhere to all requirements in the firm’s project manager’s manual.
  • Provide the project foreman (or team leader) with pertinent and appropriate project information.
  • Provide all required manpower scheduling on multiple projects to Vice President of Construction.
  • Assure that jobsite crews are operating safely and that foremen (or team leaders) are conducting weekly safety talks. Adhere to all company safety requirements.
  • Monitor job sites for safety compliance as well as reporting any safety violations to the Safety Manager immediately.
  • Communicate manpower needs to the Vice President of Construction
  • Ensure that necessary material and equipment needs are met.
  • Develop and maintain a viable working relationship with the purchasing department following all purchasing procedures.
  • Develop as necessary, the Schedule of Values for a project (working within the estimate)
  • Calculate the monthly billing with the Accounting Department for contract projects as well as AIA projects based on the Schedule of Values and progress billing as stated in contract documents.
  • Process change orders in a timely manner, providing necessary documentation to the Contract Administrator for accuracy in posting to the Job.
  • Process all paperwork as it applies to projects assigned to you in a timely fashion.
  • Provide the accounting department with financial information in order to maintain accurate data for Job Cost reporting purposes (including all billing information).
  • Visit all jobsites as necessary.
  • Represent the company at all Job Project Meetings as required.
  • Estimate project changes if requested by the Vice President of Construction.
  • Act as company liaison with all jobsite subcontractors.
  • Maintain strong customer, vendor and supplier relations.
  • Assist field professionals with problem solving and troubleshooting on technical matters.
  • Provide day-to-day leadership and management to jobsite foreman (or team leader) and crew.
  • Ensure legal and regulatory compliance including National Electrical Code compliance on all projects.
  • Participate in a wide variety of special projects as deemed necessary by the Vice President of Construction.
  • Communicate with other employees, management and customers in a professional and courteous manner.
  • Conform to all company policies and procedures.

Desired Skills & Experience

  • Bachelor degree in engineering or related field.
  • Ten (10) years proven experience in the industry.
  • Working knowledge of the most current National Electric Code (NEC).
  • Computer proficiency.
  • Must be familiar with contract review and analysis, as well as drawings and blueprints.
  • Strong managerial and administrative skills.
  • Excellent interpersonal and customer relations abilities.
  • Proven team leader and motivator with both office and field professionals in mind.
  • Problem solver.
  • The highest level of professional and ethical standards.
  • Commitment to company values.

ELECTRICAL ESTIMATOR

Overview:

Handle all aspects of estimating projects under the direct supervision of the Vice President, Estimating.   Manage projects under $100,000.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Fully and correctly utilize appropriate software for both estimating and project management.
  • Estimate all assigned projects in a thorough and timely fashion.
  • Obtain final review and approval from the Vice President, Estimating prior to submission.
  • Conduct at a minimum one (1) site visit prior to estimating a project.
  • Develop and maintain a viable working relationship with other staff members, including the financial department and project managers.
  • Process paperwork in a timely fashion.
  • Represent the company at all pre-bid and bid openings.
  • Maintain strong customer, vendor and supplier relations.
  • Assist field professionals with problem solving and troubleshooting on technical matters.
  • Provide day-to-day leadership and management to jobsite team leader and crew under your supervision.
  • Ensure legal and regulatory compliance.
  • Participate in a wide variety of special projects as deemed necessary by the Vice President of Estimating.
  • Communicate with other employees, management and customers in a professional and courteous manner.
  • Conform with company policies and procedures.
  • Conform with all safety requirements.

Desired Skills & Experience

  • Related bachelor degree or ten (10) years proven experience in the industry.
  • Working knowledge of the most current National Electric Code (NEC).
  • Computer proficiency.
  • Must be familiar with all aspects of electrical work (residential, industrial and commercial).
  • Exceptional knowledge of drawings and blueprints.
  • Experience with Computer Aided Design (CAD).
  • Strong managerial and administrative skills.
  • Excellent interpersonal and customer relations abilities.
  • Proven team leader and motivator with both office and field professionals in mind.
  • Problem solver.
  • The highest level of professional and ethical standards.
