Challenge: An exciting and fast tracked $1.5 million project designed by Anchor Health Properties, a national firm whose unique approach to healthcare facilities brings a retail experience to the healthcare consumer was awarded to George J. Hayden, Inc. following intense negotiating. Hayden’s professionals were required to prove how they could help with the design of this technologically advanced medical facility months after the project was underway. The word most associated with this challenging project was “coordination.” Extensive coordination was necessary to address 13 different tenants and their unique and specialized needs.
Solution: Getting on board late, the Hayden team pulled together to review contract specifications and guidelines. A crew of expert electricians was placed on site immediately. It did not take Hayden Electric long to alleviate the client’s concerns for the project’s timeline and design issues. Another important aspect to this project was Hayden Electric’s ability to offer value engineering to its client. For example, Hayden’s engineers redesigned the entire site lighting package and various interior lighting fixtures.
Results:
- A team of 12 members logged over 12,000 hours with no safety incidents as it took 14 months to complete this critical project
- Attention to detail and individual tenant concerns were paramount as Hayden created and delivered an amazing, state of the art medical facility in Northeastern Pennsylvania
- A building wide lighting control system for energy conservation purposes was installed.
- Hayden provided a Nurse Call System in the Ambulatory Surgery Center.
- Training was provided to the owner on all the systems.
- A “water wall” was built in the main upper lobby, one of the many special features in the multiple lobbies and public areas that provide comfortable, open and relaxing spaces. Along with a fireplace with a view of the Healing garden from large picture windows makes significant use of calming natural light.
