Electrical Contractor, George J. Hayden, Inc., Wins Award

George J. Hayden, Inc. Electric-Communications, Hazleton was recently honored with an award for best industrial electrical project. The Merit Shop Awards of Excellence in Construction is an annual event held by the Eastern Pennsylvania Chapter of Associated Builders & Contractors, Inc., an affiliate of the ABC National. This year's prestigious event noted the 20th anniversary of showcasing the outstanding quality and innovation that Merit Contractors provide to their customers. Entries presented were judged by professionals of Eastern Pennsylvania construction design, management and ownership sector. This work was judged for quality of construction while considering the unique challenges of those entered projects. By selecting a Merit Shop Contractor, the client can be assured of the highest quality construction performance. The ABC Merit Shop philosophy and its members are the future of the construction industry.

Winners from 23 different categories were presented the prestigious "Eagle Award" at a banquet held on November 17th at the Radisson Hotel Valley Forge, King of Prussia. This is the 13th consecutive year and 18th construction "Eagle" award Hayden Electric has won.
Accepting the award was Howard Welliver, Project Manager and Joe Magda, Project Foreman. The event was also attended by Mr. and Mrs. George J. Hayden, George F. Hayden, and Lori Magda.
This year's ceremony represents the first program sponsored by the newly-combined Eastern and Southeast Pennsylvania Chapters. Associated Builders and Contractors, Inc. provides members with a variety of services in management, education, safety, apprenticeship training, business development, labor relations and networking. ABC also strives to help its members build better companies and to give back to their communities.
